Public Relations Chairman Pete McIntyre says about 2,000 are needed for the event February 23-26 but so far only about 1,565 have registered.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Accommodation: dorm hosts and dorm site preparation.
Ceremonies: participant marshalling and entertainment stand ins for the rehearsal Feb 22 from 4-9 p.m.
Food services: boxed lunches and participant meals
Protocol: medal presenters
Security: special events and traffic control
Transportation: luggage handlers, courtesy cars and bus guides
Administration: environment and warehouse
Communications: switchboard (evening shifts)
Promotions: news service and photographers (must have Photoshop experience)
Registration and results: participant accreditation and results centre
Special events: holding area and participant special events

The Games will involve more than 2,000 participants from across BC (athletes, coaches and officials) in 16 sports.
