The body of a man believed to be in his 20’s to 30’s has been turned over to the Coroners department for identification.
At present, police have not yet released the name of the deceased and do not know if the man is from the Enderby area.
Police and Search and Rescue are combing the river again this morning for signs of the missing man who, say sources, had been swimming just before he jumped off the bridge. The man reportedly dove off the Enderby bridge located on Cliff Avenue.
“So far, we know an individual was seen diving off the bridge in Enderby,” confirmed police spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
"There was a young person on the shore, we don't know yet if they were associated with the missing man at this time," he added.
The man’s clothes and shoes were found by RCMP officers in the vicinity.
SAR crews deployed three rescue boats and set rescue swimmers amongst the river’s edges while local residents joined in the search and walked the river’s edges for signs of the missing man.
A bystander says a young native male dove into the water, did a belly flop, surfaced once and wasn’t seen again.
