A routine traffic stop has resulted in the arrest of a woman as well as the recovery of a stolen vehicle yesterday.
Cops report that while conducting speed checks in the 6100 block of Pleasant Valley Road, officers stopped a brown Grand Marquee which had been clocked at 80 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
“While conducting checks,” says police spokesperson Gord Molendyk, “the officers learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen from an address on Westside Road on August 15th,” he says.
Police arrested the female driver and turned their attention to her passenger, who cops say is under a Bail order to avoid the Vernon area.
The 23 year old Westside Road resident’s orders to steer clear from the vicinity were imposed by court on July 21st.
The 37 year old female driver was released on a promise to appear and is expected to face charges of Possession of Stolen Property.
The woman will face further charges for Impersonation after providing cops with a false name during her arrest.
