Vernon RCMP have located another grow op in the area.
Police say they found 1448 plants in this elaborate grow operation this past Monday. Photo: Vernon RCMP submitted Spokesperson Gord Molendyk says officers executed a drug search warrant in the 3700 block of 24th Avenue at around 10:00 a.m. Monday.
Police located 1448 marijuana plants in various stages of growth throughout the entire home, but were unable to locate the residents of the home.
“We’re still continuing this investigation into those responsible for the grow operation that was dismantled,” says Molendyk.
A hydro bypass was also located in the home which has since posted the residence as unfit for occupancy.
The remediation bylaw outlaws occupancy of the home until such time as it’s been deemed safe by officials.
Molendyk says the bust is another example of the RCMP’s commitment to the region.
“Two of those priorities are to concentrate on crime reduction and grow operations in our detachment area,” said Molendyk.
