Vernon police have gotten involved after a bizarre case involving an angry citizen in the Coldstream area.
Police say they received a call from the manager of Kelowna Pacific Rail at around 8:00 a.m. this past Saturday for a report of a man that had run out of his residence near Aberdeen Road and made gestures that he was going to shoot the train conductor as the train passed.
RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says a short time later, the rail company received a phone call on their emergency line.
“A male’s voice threatened the rail workers, which appear to be in relation to the train staff sounding the horn on the train,” says Molendyk.
“There is a requirement that they blow the horn as the train approaches a rail crossing,” added Molendyk.
Officers conducted interviews of the train crew and staff, also making a phone call to the riled rail-suspect who was subsequently arrested for his actions.
A 65 year old Coldstream resident has been arrested for uttering threats and is expected to appear in court February 23.
