Phantom Foodie Visits...Patio Buffet

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later...a horrible food experience.

Now I am not sure if this was a bad day for this restaurant, but it was so bad for me that I don't think I can even give them a second chance.

While scanning the area for a new place to eat I saw The Patio Buffet and decided to head in and give it a whirl.
The atmosphere isn’t bad, typical country-style booth and table mix, so we grabbed a booth by the window and after being greeted at the door and escorted to our seats...we pretty-much said good bye to the staff.

We of course opted for the buffet and as soon as I saw the wilted salad I knew we were not in for fine dining.

I tried to scoop a little of everything to pass along the best of the pickings but everything seemed to look, smell, and taste like it was the leftovers from the previous week. The hash brown style potatoes were semi-warm with chewy skin, the perogies were also cold and tough, the raw vegetables were wilted and soft, and the cooked ones were all over cooked. I didn't find one thing that was worth passing along as a good choice.

I then hit up the dessert area, not too many options but I took a little of each and sorry to report that the only thing worth eating was the 7-Eleven style sour candies.

The chocolate malt tasted spoiled, the baby cookies with a green topping were all mushy, and the cakes all tasted old and stale.

The place had quite a few people in there, so I'm not sure if this is a regular stop for most, or like me if they were all just giving it a shot. I am sorry to report that outside the sour candies and water, I didn't want to have a second bite of anything.

I would be interested to hear from someone else if they go there often and if it is good, plus if they had a good buffet there… even just once.

But as I had mentioned earlier I don’t think this place can win me back!

The Phantom Foodie?

If you are at all like me you sometimes struggle to pick a place to dine. You may always stick to "the usual", maybe not your favorite place, but you know that the food, service and atmosphere will be okay. Well I am here to help the best I can, by going to places for you and giving you a heads up on what to expect. Everyone craves something different and I hope to open your eyes on maybe a few places you haven't been to or haven't visited in sometime. For myself I enjoy the experience of dinning out because it means I don't have to cook or clean, and it usually means I get to visit and laugh with friends and family. So I hope you enjoy my dining experiences, and to remind you these are strictly my opinions and you can take them or leave them! Happy eats where ever you may go!
